The 60 Kg and 70 Kg burlap (jute) or sisal bags that coffee comes in are really neat. This is the same way that coffee has been transported since it first became a global commodity in the 1500s! Some coffee was transported in barrels too, but a good cooper can be hard to find these days. Only Jamaican coffees still come in barrels. Many burlap bags are very plain and very cryptic, some are a little more colorful, and a handful are very nice. Here is a very small sampling of the bags and logos that we receive.
