Video: Light Roastin' With Your Behmor

If you're having trouble getting a nice light roast in your Behmor, here's a quick tutorial that provides a good place to start. There are, of course, many variables to consider that affect your roast trajectory - the coffee you're roasting, the ambient temperature or your roasting area, whether or not you're roaster is clean (yes, clean it!) to name a few. This is meant to be a jumping off point and by no means the only way to roast light.

 

Roasting info: Coffee: Ethiopia Agaro Kedamai Cooperative

Green weight = 150 grams

1 LB setting in manual mode at full power

Roast times: 1st C @ 7:48, hitting cool at 6:42 = 1 minute 6 seconds of development

Open the door after 1 minute into the cooling cycle

Roasted weight 132 grams = 12% weight loss
